About Newlands
Newlands is an
up-market suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is located at the foot
of table mountain in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. It is home to
numerous schools as well as the Newlands Forest. Newlands is known as Cape Town 's "green" suburb because of it's lush
surroundings. Newlands is the home of Newlands Rugby Stadium - venue of the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup in 1995, and Newlands Cricket Stadium - venue of the opening ceremony of the Cricket World Cup in 2003. Newlands is
also home to the Montebello Design Centre which has a craft shop,
sculpture garden, studios, a restaurant and the first contemporary
Bushman (San) Gallery. Newlands is also home to many well established Corporate offices. Perhaps the most famous is the SAB Miller (Newlands) offices.
However it is the Finance and Accounting sectors which are most strongly
represented, with many Banks, Asset Management Companies and Auditing Firms
having their offices in Newlands.
